Sizes & Refills
Our Sizes: Simple Math, Honest Weights
We built our sizes on one simple idea: start with a small jar, and scale up from there. No confusing numbers, no shrinking packages. just a clean system you can count on.
How the sizes scale. Our size range begins with our small jar. Our medium jar holds twice as much as our small jar, and our bags let you buy more of what you love and refill as you go. The bags match the jars: a small bag equals a small jar, a medium bag equals a medium jar, and up from there.
To help you picture the jars and bags:

- Small Jar: 4 fl oz capacity, about ½ cup
- Medium Jar: 8 fl oz capacity, about 1 cup
That's the size of the jar. The actual weight of spice inside depends on the spice, a jar of light, fluffy herbs weighs less than the same jar filled with a dense ground spice, so you'll see the net weight listed on each product.
Bags are exact, jars are close. Because our bags are filled by weight, the net weight on a bag label is exactly what's inside. Our jars are filled by volume, so the actual weight of spice can vary a little with density, batch, and humidity. The bag is where the number is exact; the jar is a close, consistent guide.
Buy the jar once. Refill from bags forever. Our jars are made to keep and use over and over, and our bags are desgned as a way to refill your jars at home. Better for your shelf, your wallet, and the planet than tossing a container every time you run low. Here's the math:
| Buy this bag | Refills a Small Jar | Refills a Medium Jar |
|---|---|---|
| Medium Bag | 2 times | 1 time |
| Large Bag | 4 times | 2 times |
| Extra Large Bag | 6 times | 3 times |
Why we do it this way. Spices loose flavor after 12-18 months so we'd rather you keep a jar on the shelf and refill it as you cook than buy more than you'll use before it loses its punch. Buy the size that fits your kitchen. we'll keep the sizing simple and the weights honest.
